The University’s crowdfunding platform is now closed

The University’s crowdfunding platform has now closed, and we are focusing our fundraising efforts on the areas that will make the biggest difference to our students and staff.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has limited the University fundraising team’s resources – whilst also increasing demand for financial support across scholarships, hardship grants, and core areas of University research. Closing the crowdfunding platform has been a difficult decision, but we are confident that this will allow us to maximise the support we can provide to students and staff across the University.

If you have any questions about this, then please contact the fundraising team at supporters@manchester.ac.uk.

If you’d like to support Manchester’s students and staff

If you’d still like to support our students and stuff, there are many ways for you to do so. You can find out more about how a gift from you could support our University community here: www.manchester.ac.uk/donate

If you’ve got a project that you need to fund

The fundraising team understands that the closure the University’s crowdfunding platform will be disappointing news, but they wish you every success with securing the funding for your project.

The fundraising team are currently reviewing their processes for disbursing funds with the aim of supporting more students and staff through a wider range of University projects. They can send you more information about this when it becomes available, if this is something you would like to see. Just drop them an email.

If you decide that you would still like to crowdfund, then you might find this overview of some of the best crowdfunding sites in the UK helpful. Unlike on the University’s crowdfunding platform, the University cannot support or endorse fundraising of this nature. It’s important that you make it clear to supporters that you are fundraising independently if you decide to use one of these sites.
