Simplyhealth Great Manchester Run – Purple Wave 10K & Half Marathon

All students, staff and alumni are invited to be part of the biggest university wave in the country through the iconic Purple Wave.

Date: Sunday 19th May 2019
Time: TBC – approximate times below
09:10 for half marathon
13:55 for 10K
Venue: Meet at the Renold Building prior to the events. Starting line is on Portland Street.

On 19 May 2019, our very own University of Manchester runners (known as the Purple Wave) will make an appearance once again at the Great Manchester Run.

10K Run

This year we are inspiring more runners to participate than ever before, by tracking the distance travelled in the Purple Wave journey through various global locations to our International Centre in Singapore!

We want to encourage any level of runner or walker to join in. Whether you are motivated to raise money for a cause close to your heart, get fit, lose weight, meet new people, de-stress, achieve a new personal best distance or time – the Purple Wave is the University community event to help you do this.

Half Marathon Run

If you want to challenge yourself further, for the second year you have the opportunity to join students, staff and alumni for a run or walk with the University in the half marathon.
