NORTH WEST BUSINESS BREAKFAST: Why storytelling is a super-power in business!

Join us at the next Alliance Manchester Business School North West Business Breakfast, with Guest Speaker Andrew Thorp – Business Speaker and Skills Trainer

Date: Friday 5th February 2021
Time: 9:30am – 11:00am
Via Zoom

In this session, Andrew will introduce the concept of Applied Storytelling and why it matters to anyone selling a product or service in these extraordinary times. Andrew refers to his work as ‘Verbal PR’, a way to communicate the true value of your work. It’s a form of soft persuasion, not unlike diplomacy. To ‘storify’, he explains, is the difference between informing and inspiring.

We will explore:

  • How to move people with your message (appeal to head and heart)
  • How storytelling goes far beyond the humble anecdote
  • How this applies to formal pitching or conversational settings
  • How to build and access a story library
  • Why story-listening is as important as telling.
