The Manchester Universities 2K & 5K Run

Join us for the first ever Manchester Universities Run in association with the Simplyhealth Great Run.

Off the back of our iconic Purple Wave, we are delighted to host the inaugural 2K and 5K event in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University and The Great Run Company in Platt Fields Park. The event is suitable for all ranges of ability but we are specifically encouraging new walkers and runners to take their first step with these achievable distances. So whether you are using this as a well-timed run as part of your 10K training, or just want to give something new a try, this is the event for you!

Date: Wednesday 27th February 2019
Time: 2K wave starting at 13:30, 5K waves starting at 12:20 and 14:15
Venue: Platt Fields Park, Platt Lane entrance, opposite St Ives Road

Students, staff and alumni are all invited and entry to this will give participants a further discount to the 10K Purple Wave in May 2019. You can access this further discount in your registration receipt for the 2K or 5K run. Please note that once your payment is accepted, your fee is not refundable unless supported by a doctor’s note.

There will be three running wave times (2 x 5K, 1 x 2K) during the afternoon with the aim of providing an opportunity for as many students, staff and alumni to enter an event as possible. Entries are £2 for the 2K and £3 for the 5Ks. Places for the event are limited and will be allocated on first come, first served basis.

Due to the time of the year, we have a backup date of 6th March should we have to postpone the event due to poor weather, so please do keep both dates free.

Please ensure that the registrant details provided are those of the runner if different to the bill payer.
